Beatmaster is back, after getting quite a name for himself with 1 and 2, Sonix House 3 is here and this will be the last by Mike Archer. Contains Doctor In the House, I Know What Acid is, Do you like scratching? and HipHouse Minimix. Great for fans, consistently high quality stuff from Mike. (Nice to see you at the show!)

The Phenomena Mega Demo the Bob-War continues! What is the bob war? well the programmers have been competing to see who can get the most on screen, this has the most so-far to my knowledge with 200 on-screen! (thats 200 objects). This mega demo contains lots of sprite demos as a result but the highlight is the darkened-room only demo at the end that shows what Elite COULD have been like.

Adrian Pursers Ray-Trace Graphics. Adrian has developed his own ray-trace techniqes and he is currently writing the front-end and editor for his program. His actual maths code etc is done and here are some early results which are very good. Adrian promises much more complex graphics and effects in the near future.

512K users have been somewhat left out in the cold as far as decent animations have been concerned so to make amends here are some! Featuring five animations including two very nice Star Trek Ones, now 512K users can live long and prosper! Animations by Tobias Richter.

Disk 439 - MEMBERS ARTWORK
Its been a long time coming but finally its here! What is it? It is 'Best of 17bit submitted Artwork' Volume 1! All crunched files and some great music by Allister Brimble. Features artwork by Rico Holmes, Justin Warren, J Chappel, Andrew Nunn, Stu Collins, Andy Patrick. About 36 files, all crunched using the IFFc as featured on Update 6 so they will not load into Dpaint etc without being grabbed first. Includes two superb Ham interlace pictures by Rico that were over 200K prior to crunching!

Castle Of Doom! An adventure game with graphics more suitable for the beginner. Simple parser and fairly easy going.
Disk 446 - COLOUR CYCLE SLIDESHOW
A slideshow composed of purely colour-cycled pictures. Colour-cycling is a way of producing simple animation using a static picture. There are some stunning examples on this disc, you can also load them into an art package and see how they are done. Includes, Squares, Jet, Plane, Tube, Space, Quarix, Mobile, Truck, Warp, Band, Dinosaur, Jeep and much more. (20 IFF pictures (most of them are PAL format so will not load into Dpaint Version 1))
Disk 447 - JOLYON MYERS MUSIC
`Heart Of The Machine' includes 3 very good music tracks all with very nice sounds. Very good. Done with sonix although its not a standard disc and so can't be used as a data-disc (which is a shame).

4 Demos on this disc, including a great digibox that allows you to save any of the strange sounds as IFF or RAW data strange sounds including the Pope! You can also speed up and slowdown the samples in real time for a good laugh! Also included are 3 demos, one by Vortex 42 and is a very nice wave demo one by Alive which is a nice line demo. Also a very strange and clever scroller by Defjam/Silents.

By Magnetic Fields. Programming by Rob Hill. Nice music and nice presentation. The first volume went down very well and so will this I should think! 10 pieces of music.

Another Sonix jukebox, done by Mr Elliot (17Bit member 1403) comprises of 3 scores all featuring large sampled chunks of music. All very well done and handy for any sonix users wanting to create more or less instant music!
Disk 454 - GAMES & BITS
Various Games. Includes a really playable of the Arcade game "Qix", Blue- Moon which is a card patience game, Orbit 3D gravitational shoot em up!, Wordsearch gives you random word puzzles to attempt. Asteroids updated version with better graphics than the older version. Filling up the space is the marvelous Tree Frog animation as featured in The One last month.
Disk 455 - BOPUS POLOPUS
Heres a disc I have had for ages, lost then found again! It is Bopus Polopus 1 by Matt `17Bit 6404' West. All original music by Matt accompanied by an array of digitised sounds, instruments, film clips and loonies. Also included are some neat CLI tricks via the DEL key and a couple of great animated pointers (well he did win the pointer comp!) 6 weird and wonderful musical beasties here to pump through the hifi..just sorry it took me a while to include it...sorry Matt!

4 nice animations on here, and for a change they all work fine in 512K! They're 'TreeFrog' by H Kane, Hammer by M Illingworth, Window by Cape and Walking Man by S Segal. All very nice 2 ray-traced and 2 animations (.anim files).

Its crawled out from Cinemaware and is attacking your screens. A great product demo for the already famous unreleased game IT Came from the Desert! Based on all the classic 50's bug movies get this and find out what all the fuss is about. Spectacular sound and animation plus of course a superb intro sequence.

Nightlite Music 2 from Kefrens, yes another music disc. We can't help it if thats all we seem to get sent!! Anyway features a good version of Erasure's Circus, yet another Popcorn mix and a version of Goldrunner plus a great jazzed up greensleeves!
Disk 463 - GHOSTPOOL ANIMATION
Ghostpool and Amigadrip animations. Two really good animations here, the first is a 3d pool animation done in HAM and mimics a ghost playing pool. The second is a water drip that lands in a barrel very nice ripple effect! Needless to say, its 1meg only.

At last a good quality shareware music creator system that is (unlike other programs supplied by certain other libraries) PD. This disc features Brian Postmas Soundmonitor version 1, a demo of version 2 and a preset editor. Full instructions and around 20 demo scores. Superb for PD, note that you will need disc 479 (100+ instruments!) to hear the music!! 2 drives are definatly reccomended (but not essential) as is extra ram.
Disk 479 - TRACKER INSTRUMENTS
Instrument disc for above, named ST-01 so it can also be used by Soundtracker users. Contains around a hundred instruments including sony drums some great guitars, chords and many effects and samples. All in raw data format (NOT iff!). We highly reccomend you get this disc if getting the above disc...

Thanks to the work of Swedens Andreas Tadic, we are able to bring you another music editor GMC (Games Music Creator). This is a new soundtracker varient and in some ways manages to be a major improvement. 100% totally re-written by Andreas it also includes MIDI capability. The best feature in some ways is that any samples can be used, IFF or RAW, and from any disc, no messy preset lists are needed. Features include arrepeggio, sliding, filter on/off, speed up/down, transposing etc.

A great collection of music by the maestro from the IT demos Walkman (musician behind the great Metalkeys music).. this disc features 7 tracks, Speakerbuster (brilliant thru the hifi!), Piano Plinker, Skylight Skippers, Smoke, Jarre Strikes Back, Supabasic II, Hubbard Top 5. Great presentation (digital waveforms shown) BUT (yes there is a BUT!!) it doesnt work on issue 1.3 machines..SORRY!!! not our fault!! For heavy metal fans the speakerbuster is perhaps the best heavy metal track on the Amiga!
Disk 490 - RAY TRACED SLIDESHOW
A brilliant slideshow featuring some incredible artwork..Henk Van Der Graaf is a Dutchman living in Australia who spends up to 5weeks at a time creating his `paintings` in medium res 16colours. The result is an image as good if not BETTER than an equivalent digitised image! Check out the 5 Graaf pictures on this disc, the Joker from Rico Holmes and the incredible cover to this Newsflash. Also on the disc is a great piece of art by Rob Beston and 3 superlative Ham images grabbed with `Superview`.

Impact Demo featuring a rather nice intro which is lengthy and cannot be skipped. After that you are able to choose from 7 very nice songs.

Heres a demo to make your trigger finger itch! This is a product demo of "Battle Squadron" which is the follow up to Hybris. Featuring full Pal scrolling, twin player simultaneous action, added horizontal scrolling (as in the game sidewinder). Great sound, great graphics and probably the most arcade lookalike yet to appear. Time to oil your joystick methinks...

Two as yet unseen (as far as we know!) animations produced by a German chap called Michael Klein. Includes a fabulous Magician animation and a Jogger animation. Both have been created in 4096 colours with Sculpt Animate 3D.
