Amiga 1200
The Amiga 1200 is a 32-bit home computer released by Commodore International in October 1992 as the direct successor to the Amiga 500. It features a Motorola 68020 processor running at 14 MHz and the Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA) chipset, enabling 24-bit color palettes and display resolutions up to 1280x512. The system introduced a compact "pizza box" design with an internal 2.5-inch IDE hard drive bay and a PCMCIA Type II slot for expansion, representing Commodore's final attempt to capture the home computer market before bankruptcy. Despite its technical superiority over earlier models, limited marketing and the company's financial collapse restricted its commercial success, though it remains highly sought after by retrocomputing enthusiasts today.
