Cracktro

A cracktro (short for crack introduction) is a small executable program displayed by warez groups before a cracked game to claim credit for removing copy protection and advertise their skills. On the Amiga, these intros evolved into sophisticated demonstrations featuring real-time graphics effects, tracker music, and scrolling text, often packed into just a few kilobytes of memory. They served as a bridge between the illegal cracking scene and the legal demoscene, with many famous demo coders beginning their careers writing cracktros for groups like Fairlight or Paradox.
