GCC
The GNU C Compiler (GCC) is a widely-used open-source compiler suite that became essential for Amiga software development, particularly for creating cross-compilation environments. Developers could compile Amiga executables on Linux or Windows workstations, significantly speeding up build times compared to native compilation on Amiga hardware. GCC enabled porting of numerous Unix applications to AmigaOS and remains the primary compiler for modern Amiga-like systems including AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, and AROS.
