Zorro II is the 16-bit expansion bus implementation introduced with the Amiga 2000 in 1987, operating at approximately 7.16 MHz with a 24-bit address space supporting up to 16 MB of memory per card. It became the standard expansion interface for the Amiga 2000, 3000, and 4000 desktop models, offering four to six slots depending on the system configuration. The bus maintains backward compatibility with original Zorro I cards while providing improved DMA capabilities and the AutoConfig protocol for automatic hardware initialization.
