Video Toaster

The Video Toaster by NewTek (1990) was a revolutionary broadcast video system for the Amiga 2000. It combined hardware (Zorro-II card with 4 video inputs, framebuffer, genlock) with software (Toaster Switcher, LightWave 3D, ToasterCG, ToasterPaint). The Video Toaster enabled TV studio quality at a fraction of the cost of professional broadcast equipment. It was used at hundreds of TV stations, including for the effects of SeaQuest and Babylon 5. Price approx. $2500.
